What to discuss at your consultation
Clarify whether your goal concerns volume, position, size or reconstruction. Discuss the proposed approach, scars, any implant details and the required long-term review arrangements. Breast surgery includes augmentation, lift, reduction and implant revision, and each has different incision options, recovery and long-term considerations. If implants are proposed, ask for the manufacturer, type and size, and keep the implant card or record for your files. Share any family history of breast disease and recent breast imaging if available. Ask how drains, support garments and follow-up checks are arranged, and what to do if you notice changes after returning home.
Personalised treatment plan
Your individual package includes hotel accommodation, airport welcome, VIP transfers, interpreter support and the medicines prescribed by the treating professional. Your dates and length of stay in Istanbul depend on your treatment plan; before booking, confirm them in writing together with the number of hotel nights and aftercare arrangements.
Travel and length of stay
Ask for an individual schedule before booking flights. Confirm the number of visits, review appointments and when the treating professional expects you to be fit to travel. Some treatment plans require more than one visit.
Follow-up after returning home
After you return home, we follow up with you for 2 years and we get in touch with you ourselves: close follow-up in the first week, then once a month until month 6 and every 3 months until the end of the second year.

How does breast augmentation differ from a breast lift?
Augmentation aims to increase or restore volume; a lift reshapes and repositions sagging tissue. Depending on anatomy and goals, the surgeon may recommend one procedure or a combination.

What is breast surgery?
Breast surgery covers procedures that change the size, shape or position of the breasts. Common options include augmentation with implants or fat, breast lift (mastopexy), breast reduction and revision of previous implants. The procedure is selected according to your anatomy and goals.
Who may be suitable for breast surgery?
Adults in good health who want larger, smaller or lifted breasts, or who have concerns about previous implants, may be assessed. Breast reduction may also be considered for physical discomfort. Pregnancy plans, breastfeeding, family history of breast disease, smoking and previous breast imaging should be discussed with the surgeon.
Breast surgery: What should international patients expect in Istanbul?
Send photos and relevant medical information for an initial review. In Istanbul the surgeon examines you, discusses the technique, incisions and any implant details, and arranges pre-operative tests. After surgery you wear a supportive bra, may have drains and attend follow-up visits. The treating team advises when you can travel and resume activities.
What is recovery like after breast surgery?
Tightness, swelling and discomfort in the chest are common at first and are managed with the prescribed medication. A supportive bra is worn as instructed, and lifting, reaching overhead and strenuous exercise are limited for a period set by the surgeon. Report increasing swelling on one side, fever or wound problems promptly.
What results can be expected from breast surgery?
Breast shape settles gradually as swelling reduces. Scars will remain, although they usually fade over time. Implants are not lifetime devices and may need monitoring or replacement in the future, and breast surgery can affect sensation or breastfeeding. The surgeon should explain these points for your specific procedure.
Breast surgery: What is AVAN AESTH’s role?
AVAN AESTH does not perform surgery. We coordinate your breast surgery journey by sharing your information with the provider for review, arranging appointments, helping with accommodation, transfers and interpreting support, and staying in contact after you return home to forward questions to the treating team.
Breast augmentation: implants or fat transfer?
The choice depends on how much volume you want, your body shape and whether you have enough fat to transfer; the surgeon recommends the option after an examination. Implants can add more, and more predictable, volume but may need monitoring or replacement later. Fat transfer uses your own fat taken by liposuction and gives a more modest increase; part of the fat may be reabsorbed, so more than one session may be needed.
How long do breast implants last, and do they need to be replaced?
Breast implants are not lifetime devices, but there is no fixed date by which they must be replaced. Many people keep them for many years; replacement or removal may be needed if problems such as capsular contracture, rupture or a change in shape develop. Keep your implant details, attend the check-ups and imaging your surgeon recommends, and seek advice if you notice pain, swelling or a change in shape.
