What to discuss at your consultation
Request a written sequence covering implant placement, healing, temporary teeth and final restoration. Clarify the implant system, component records and who will provide maintenance after your return. A dental implant is a titanium or zirconia post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. Bone volume, gum health and smoking influence whether an implant can be placed and whether bone grafting is needed first. Ask whether a three-dimensional scan (CBCT) is part of the assessment, how long healing is expected to take in your case before the final teeth are fitted, and whether treatment fits one trip or requires a second visit.
Personalised treatment plan
Your individual package includes hotel accommodation, airport welcome, VIP transfers, interpreter support and the medicines prescribed by the treating professional. Your dates and length of stay in Istanbul depend on your treatment plan; before booking, confirm them in writing together with the number of hotel nights and aftercare arrangements.
Travel and length of stay
Ask for an individual schedule before booking flights. Confirm the number of visits, review appointments and when the treating professional expects you to be fit to travel. Some treatment plans require more than one visit.
Follow-up after returning home
After you return home, we follow up with you for 2 years and we get in touch with you ourselves: close follow-up in the first week, then once a month until month 6 and every 3 months until the end of the second year.

What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?
Both are full-arch implant-supported approaches. The planned number and placement of implants differ. Bone anatomy, bite and oral health determine suitability; more implants are not automatically the better choice.

What are dental implants?
A dental implant is a small titanium or zirconia post placed in the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. After it has integrated with the bone it supports a crown, bridge or denture. Implants can replace a single tooth or several teeth, or stabilise a full-arch restoration.
Who may be suitable for dental implants?
Adults who have lost one or more teeth and have enough healthy bone and gum tissue may be assessed for implants. Smoking, gum disease, certain medications and previous radiotherapy of the jaw can affect healing and suitability. For patients with diabetes we do not coordinate any dental treatment; we refer them to a fully equipped hospital. If bone volume is limited, the dentist may discuss bone grafting or alternative restorations.
Dental implants: What should international patients expect in Istanbul?
Implant treatment usually happens in stages. After a remote review of your X-rays, the dentist in Istanbul examines you, takes a scan and places the implants. Healing is needed before the final teeth are fitted, so many patients make more than one trip, with temporary teeth in between where appropriate. Your written plan should set out each stage.
What is recovery like after dental implant surgery?
After implant surgery, swelling, bruising and discomfort are common for a while and are managed with the medication and instructions provided by the treating dentist. A soft diet, careful cleaning and avoiding smoking support healing. The bone needs time to integrate with the implant before the final teeth are fitted, and this period varies from person to person.
What results can be expected from dental implants?
Implants can restore chewing and appearance, but outcomes depend on bone quality, general health, oral hygiene and regular check-ups. An implant can fail to integrate or develop gum problems later. Ask the dentist about the risks in your case, the maintenance required and how the implant system is documented for dentists who may treat you in future.

AVAN AESTH coordinates implant journeys and is not a dental clinic. We forward your X-rays and questions to the dental provider, plan appointments for each treatment stage, help arrange accommodation, transfers and interpreting, and keep in contact between visits and after you return home.
Is dental implant surgery painful?
Implant placement is usually done under local anaesthesia, so most people feel pressure and vibration rather than pain during the procedure. As the anaesthetic wears off, soreness, swelling or bruising are common for a few days and are managed with the medication and instructions from the treating dentist. Sedation may be discussed if you are anxious. Contact the team if pain increases instead of easing.
